4th Grade Native American Program

Mt. Pleasant fourth grade students took a journey into Native American territory.  They learned about artifacts from long ago and crafted clay pots utilizing the coil method.  They also compared the United States government to that of the Iroquois Confederacy.

Valentines for Nesconset Nursing Home

First and second graders at Mt. Pleasant Elementary volunteered to make valentines with the help from Student Council.  Students made valentines to send to the residents at the Nesconset Nursing Home.  The students hope their loving cards and thoughts will make each recipient smile.

Pancake Breakfast for Box Top Winners

Look who was serving up pancakes?  You guessed it… Chef Ierano!  Mrs. Metz and Mrs. Clarkson’s students were treated to a pancake breakfast as a reward for collecting the most Box Tops.  This treat was a super sweet way to thank them for their diligence in bringing in Box Tops.

PARP Bingo for Books

Suffolk County Police Officers Visit 2nd Grade

Suffolk County Police Officers Susan LaVeglia, Mark McNulty and Sgt. Gerard Frielingsdorf visited the second graders at Mt. Pleasant Elementary to answer questions about the responsibilities of being a police officer.  The three also informed the students of the importance of dialing 911 in an emergency and how to react when approached by a stranger.  The …

Mt. Pleasant Spelling Bee

On Friday, Jan. 9th, Mount Pleasant Elementary School held their annual Grade 3-5 Spelling Bee. Nine students vied for the title of Champion and a 5th grader, Madeline Raeihle came out on top. Her winning word was dilapidated. Madeline will now move on to Hofstra University for the LI Regional Spelling Bee taking place on 2/8/15.
