Mt. Pleasant Spelling Bee

On Friday, Jan. 9th, Mount Pleasant Elementary School held their annual Grade 3-5 Spelling Bee. Nine students vied for the title of Champion and a 5th grader, Madeline Raeihle came out on top. Her winning word was dilapidated. Madeline will now move on to Hofstra University for the LI Regional Spelling Bee taking place on 2/8/15.

Student Council Donates Food

On Thursday, Dec. 11th, 2014 members of Mt. Pleasant Elementary School’s Student Council donated 20 boxes of food to the Smithtown Emergency Food Pantry in Smithtown. Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

Kindergarten students at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School honored the tradition of Thanksgiving by enjoying a delicious feast consisting of turkey, stuffing, cornbread and desserts.  They also participated in Thanksgiving centers where they made colorful Native American costumes which they wore at the feast.

Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast

To show appreciation for the important work that is done to get students to and from school safely each day, Mt. Pleasant Elementary School invited its bus drivers and crossing guard to breakfast.  Mt. Pleasant was honored to thank these valuable members of the school community for their service.
